Jobs With Flexible Schedules

If you’re looking for a job that offers flexible hours, you’re in luck. There are plenty of career options to choose from. Even if you only need this kind of job for a few years because of specific circumstances like caring for an elderly relative or young child, there are still many interesting jobs out there that let you control the schedule.

Truck Driving

Driving a commercial vehicle will take a special license, but once you have it, you have the opportunity to be an owner operator where you find loads and set your own schedule or to go to work for a company who will respect the hours you’re available. There is a truck driver shortage, so it’s a great job or career to jump into.

Trade Jobs

If you’re good with your hands, consider becoming a plumber, electrician or carpenter. You can work for yourself and accept jobs when and where you want. Another option is to work for a company that helps connect you with clients. At the start, be upfront about what hours you’re willing to work.

Online Teaching

If you don’t mind getting up early, consider getting a job with one of the numerous companies that offer English lessons to Chinese school children. You can get a couple hours of teaching in before anyone else in your home even wakes up. Many companies allow you to post your own hours and accept your own jobs, which makes it easy to schedule around trips or doctors’ appointments.

Content Writing

Professional content writing is an emerging job being snapped up by those with excellent grammar and writing skills. Professional writing can literally be done any time of night or day as long as all deadlines for the employer are met.

Not all jobs are nine to five, so whether you need to be around when your kids get home from school or just want the flexibility to travel when you want to, there are plenty of jobs available that accommodate all sorts of schedules.
